Nike x Liberty Collection SS 14
Nike refreshes its icons for women with the launch of the newest collaboration with Liberty London, fusing tradition and sport for a bold summer statement. The collection sees some of Nike’s most celebrated footwear and apparel styles transformed by an array of timeless Liberty London floral prints for a cool summer look rooted in sports culture.
The footwear collection consists of a mix of heritage and modern Nike styles. The culture of running is celebrated via the Air Max 90 and Nike Roshe Run. Also included are basketball classic Nike Blazer and the Dunk Sky Hi — a feminine take on the classic Dunk.
Each style has been wrapped in an assortment of three of Liberty London’s signature fabric designs: Anoosha, a 1930s print featuring blossom and bell flowers; Lora, a print based on a 1970s version of William Morris’s “Willow” pattern; and Crown, a design based on various paisley block prints from Liberty’s Merton print works from the late 19th to early 20th century. Each design is characterized by a fresh summer blue floral palette.
This collection embodies a stripped-back crisp look. The Nike Roshe Run and Dunk Sky Hi feature the Liberty Crown fabric, while the Nike Blazer is in the Liberty Lora.
