The Lacoste Dragon are coming Nov 2012

West meets East as The Dragon joins The Crocodile in one of the most exciting collaborations of 2012!

To celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dragon, LACOSTE footwear has been working with the New Project Centre (NPC) in Shanghai and Beijing and founders, VJ Nic Li and Wilber Pan, to create an exclusive collection that is as sharply contemporary as it is steeped in eastern tradition.

By offering up its iconic Broadwick trainer for this striking reimagining, LACOSTE has transformed an already popular style in to a shimmering, street-smart, creation.

Dragon imagery and impeccable attention to detail permeate every stitch of these fabulous sports hybrids, from dazzling toe to gilded heel.

Just 500 precious pairs of these shoes will be made in Red, Gold and Silver: the traditional colours of luck and life.

Shining scale leathers bring the dragon and crocodile textures together while a double toothed tongue, lustre PVC ‘tail’ and dragons on the in-sock, outsole and side profile envelope the lucky wearer in bold imagery.

Dual branding at the heel and lace holder joins these iconic brands together and adds the finishing touches to these very desirable lux-sport styles.

‘The cutting-edge, street-style that NPC are famous for has influenced our designs as much as the Dragon iconography. We have great respect for the Dragon image and knew this was a great fit with LACOSTE’s younger style direction.’
